Krishna Nama Manjunatha (Emerging Technologies Research Centre, De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom) is a Senior Lecturer in microelectronics and nanoelectronics at De Montfort University and works within the Emerging Technologies Research Centre. His PhD in Nanomaterials for Photovoltaic Applications won the ‘‘Best PhD Thesis of the Year’’. He leads research based on emerging materials for energy related applications, specialising in self-doped silicon nanowires (SiNWs) for energy-related applications. His research is further focused in the field of wide-bandgap semiconductors, synthesis of materials for solar cells, Li- & Na-ion batteries and thermoelectric applications. His entrepreneurial mindset is demonstrated through successful ideation, prototyping, and commercial grant acquisition for lab-to-market transitions of innovative micro/nano-scale manufacturing tools.
